You need one contractor who carries the plant from design to daily operation and answers for the result.
One Accountable Contractor
We built USP&E around the idea that the team who designs a plant should stand behind how it runs. Our engineers take responsibility from the first study to long-term operations. USP&E is a full-service EPC and O&M contractor, not a broker.
The EPC Stage
Engineering defines the plant: equipment selection, layout, fuel systems, electrical design, protection and controls. Procurement brings in turbines from inventory or new orders alongside transformers, switchgear and balance-of-plant packages. Construction covers civil, mechanical and electrical works, and commissioning proves the plant under load before handover.
Throughout, USP&E manages scope, risk, cost, schedule, quality and procurement as one integrated plan. You receive regular reporting against milestones rather than chasing several contractors for updates.
The O&M Stage
Operations begin the moment the plant is accepted. USP&E provides operators, planned maintenance, inspections, spares management and performance reporting. Maintenance follows the OEM framework for each machine, and lessons from commissioning feed straight into the operating procedures.
For campuses and industrial users, O&M reports are designed to show the availability and performance figures your stakeholders need, giving you evidence rather than assurances.
Turbines and Engines We Work With
Our EPC and O&M teams work with used and new gas turbines, remanufactured GE Frame 6B units, aeroderivative packages and natural gas engine stations. The equipment is chosen for your duty, not for our convenience, because we are brand-agnostic.
Buyers looking at specific turbine packages can visit new gas turbine generators and packages, and data centre teams can review gas turbines for data center primary power.
USP&E Offices for EPC and O&M
US buyers of gas turbine EPC and O&M deal with Knoxville (800 S Gay St, Suite 700) and Colorado Springs (1755 Telstar Dr, Suite 300), close to the developers and utilities they serve. Ask to meet the project manager who would lead your EPC scope; in many cases the same office stays with you through O&M. London (162-168 Regent Street) supports lenders and structured deals; Johannesburg (22 Kildoon Rd, Bryanston) and Cape Town (31 Brickfield Road, Woodstock) staff projects across Africa; Wuxi (No. 1, Ningzhou Road, Wuxi) supports sourcing and fabrication. USA | AFRICA | UK | UAE | CHINA. Behind that footprint sit 150+ power projects in 45+ countries, 25,000 MW contracted since 2002, and ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified management systems.
EPC and O&M Track Record
You need a contractor whose plants keep running. These projects show what USP&E has built and supported.
- NEOM, Saudi Arabia: USP&E supplied three zero-hour Siemens SGT-400 gas turbines. Read the case study.
- USP&E has refurbished seven GE Frame 6B gas turbines to zero hours in-house for major US hyperscale data-centre developers.
- Resolute Mining, Syama, Mali: USP&E installed and operated a 30 MW Caterpillar power station from 2007 to 2010. Read the case study.
Your Plan
Your 3-step plan: 1. Share your power need and site data. 2. Receive an EPC and O&M proposal with schedule and scope. 3. Build, commission and operate with one team.
- Define load, fuel and site constraints.
- Agree equipment selection and plant layout.
- Procure, build and test the plant.
- Commission under load and hand over.
- Run planned O&M with monthly reporting.

FAQ: Gas turbine EPC and O&M
What does EPC mean for a gas turbine plant?
USP&E uses EPC to mean engineering, procurement and construction of the full plant, ending with commissioning under load. It covers turbines, fuel systems, electrical equipment, protection, controls and civil works, delivered by one contractor responsible for the plant working as designed.
What does USP&E’s O&M service include?
USP&E’s O&M service includes operators, planned maintenance following OEM guidance, inspections, spares management, troubleshooting and performance reporting. Contracts can run for many years, keeping the same team and knowledge on the plant throughout its life.
Why choose one company for EPC and O&M?
USP&E recommends one company because it removes handover gaps and blame between contractors. The team that commissioned the plant understands its settings and history, which speeds fault-finding and keeps responsibility for performance in one place.
Is USP&E a broker?
No. USP&E is a full-service EPC and O&M contractor, not a broker. We supply equipment, but our core work is engineering, building and operating power stations, and we stay accountable for them long after commissioning is complete.
What projects has USP&E delivered?
USP&E has delivered 150+ power projects in 45+ countries, with 25,000 MW contracted since 2002. Examples include three zero-hour Siemens SGT-400 units for NEOM, seven GE Frame 6B turbines refurbished to zero hours for US hyperscale developers, and 30 MW for Resolute at Syama.
Which offices deliver USP&E EPC projects?
USP&E delivers EPC projects from Colorado Springs and Knoxville in the USA, Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, London for structuring and finance, and Wuxi for China supply chain and fabrication. Teams are assigned by project location.
How quickly can USP&E prepare an EPC proposal?
USP&E assigns an engineer to review your requirements as soon as basic load, fuel and site data arrive. You receive clarifying questions or an outline scope first, followed by a firm proposal once surveys and equipment availability are confirmed.
Does USP&E certify its management systems?
Yes. USP&E is ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified, covering quality and occupational health and safety. Those systems apply across engineering, construction and operations, and are backed by 400+ engineers and project managers working on live projects.
